G.K. (43), a woman from Šeškovci near Laktaši, who is suspected of not leaving her house for more than 17 years, passed away at the Plastic Surgery Clinic of the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska.
She was admitted to the UKC last year in a serious psychophysical condition. She was then transferred from the Urgent Center to the Institute for Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Orthopedic Surgery „Dr. Miroslav Zotović“, from where she was returned to plastic surgery where she eventually passed away.
For a while, she even communicated. After a certain period spent in treatment, her psychological state came to the forefront. She began to refuse food, medical examinations. She did not want to communicate and only talked to certain people. Then she started refusing physical treatments. Despite everything, she was cared for at the UKC and provided with all necessary assistance.
This shocking case was discovered in September last year when the family called emergency services because G.K. was almost dead.
The condition in which this woman was found shocked doctors, social workers, and the entire public. She had been neglected for years and as suspected, she had not left the house for 17 years, ATV writes.
After being admitted to the hospital, it was found that she did not have an ID card, nor did she ever possess one. She did not have health insurance and was not registered anywhere as a patient. Until last September, she had never been treated and is considered one of the most extreme cases of pathology ever discovered in Republika Srpska.
