Sead Bihorac, owner of a bakery in Novi Pazar, has started an unusual project – the construction of a residential building with six apartments intended for single mothers and their children. Sead says that the apartments are intended for children who do not have fathers and their mothers who bravely fight for their existence. This unique gesture aims to provide security and a home to those who need it most.
Sead, along with donors and his association, decided on a major project. He says that the very thought of a child growing up without a father awakens in a person the awareness to help and make things easier as much as possible. „We decided to take this step to make them happy and to make them a home, to make them a house, to relieve them of paying rent,“ said Sead.
The building will have six apartments, and Sead says that priority will be given to the youngest children. „We will aim for the children who receive an apartment to be exclusively girls,“ he adds. Construction has already begun, and Sead hopes it could be completed by spring.
People who work for free are involved in the construction, and the residential building is being built together with donors. When asked how difficult it is to raise money for construction, Sead said that in today’s world, it is hard to gain people’s trust. „When you gain the trust of people, people believe and give money, give for construction. Everything is done transparently, the donor has no doubts about where his money is going. So with God’s help, and then good people, we move forward, we build it,“ he said.
This is not Sead’s first noble gesture. In his bakery, he makes bread that can be taken for free by those who cannot afford to buy it. He also delivers bread to his clients in different stores, so it can be taken for free there as well. „This idea came about six years ago. People come here to our bakery every day, take bread. There are people waiting for us in front of stores, they know when we arrive. And there are also some people at a few locations where we leave it, and they come and take it,“ said Sead.
